Root Canal

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.

 What getting a crown entails:

  • On the first visit the dentist will prep the tooth by removing its outer portion so that the crown will fit.

  • Take and impressions that will later be send to the laboratory, and pick a shade for the crown.

  • The second visit will be to deliver the crown.

Missing a tooth?

A bridge can help replace a missing tooth or several missing teeth.  A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap -- these two or more anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth -- and false tooth/teeth in between.

There are three general phases of implant treatment:

Implant placement: The dentist surgically places the implant into the jaw.

Healing: The bone grows around the implant and holds the implant in place. This can take up to several months.

Replacing your missing teeth: A crown, bridge or denture will be made to fit your mouth and your implants. Once completed the teeth is attached to the implant posts.

Root Canal Therapy

Tooth decay can cause an abscess (infection) when that happens you'll need a root canal. The decay is removed and an opening is made through the crown of the tooth into the pulp chamber. The pulp is removed and the canals are cleaned and shaped. The root canals and pulp chamber are filled. A metal or plastic rod or post may be placed in the root canal to help retain the core material, which supports the restoration. The crown of the tooth is then restored.

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth.

Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. That’s because dentures make it easier to eat and speak better than you could without teeth—things that people often take for granted

Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can greatly improve how your teeth look. Most dentists perform tooth whitening.

Whitening is not a one-time procedure. It will need to be repeated from time to time if you want to maintain the brighter color.

Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and root planing is a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and calculus [tartar] from deep periodontal pockets and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial toxins. Scaling and root planing is often followed by adjunctive therapy such as local delivery antimicrobials and host modulation, as needed on a case-by-case basis.
